A three-generation family business
Pierre Chouinard’s story began in the 70s in the Eastern townships. He quickly distinguished himself by his human approach, the reliability of his services and the quality of his products. Sharing the same values of excellence, his wife and three children joined the team. Discover the history of our family business.
1978
Pierre Chouinard’s career began as a delivery man for Ghislain Larochelle, a Texaco retailer, in September 1978.
1988
On October 24, 1988, he started delivering Imperial Oil products in the Coaticook region.
2001
In 2001, the company began to expand, with Pierre Chouinard & Fils becoming the sole distributor for Imperial Oil in the Eastern Townships region. At that time, the company’s fleet was composed of 5 trucks.
2004
In 2004, Pierre Chouinard & Fils was granted the agency status by Imperial Oil and the company became a true Quebec SME. This is when the company truly became a family business. In addition to his wife Thérèse, their 3 children, Stéphane, Bruno and Louise, became shareholders. They started to actively participate in decisions and worked hard to achieve the company’s objectives. Their primary goal was to ensure the long-term succession of the company.
2011
On November 17, 2011, the company partnered with Harnois Énergies as a reseller, with the goal of offering a complete range of services to its customers.
2021
A few years ago, children of the third generation began to work occasionally within the company, according to their interests and skills. In December 2021, Anthony joined the team as a full-time semi-trailer driver.
Today
Pierre Chouinard & Fils provides work to more than twenty employees, who’s engagement and dedication form a huge part of the company’s success.
